Manual Assessment of Lymphoedema – A Research Study Call for an expression of interest for physiotherapists to take part in a research study that will aid in understanding how physiotherapists manually assess (palpate) lymphoedema. Are you a physiotherapist who has at least 2 years experience in manually assessing lymphoedema? If you answered YES to this question, you may be eligible to participate in this study. The purpose of this study is to gain an understanding of the technique physiotherapists use to manually assess lymphoedematous soft tissue. We also wish to understand how therapist’s perceptions of the soft tissue characteristics gained during manual assessment relate to the force measures we will assess. Your participation would require attendance for approximately 3 hours over 2 days to be negotiated with you. This study is being conducted at QLD Lymphoedema and Breast Oncology Physiotherapy, Suite 6b 197 Days Road, Grange, QLD. This study has ethics approval from the Griffith University Human Research Ethics Committee. Please contact Michelle Roser on 0430 363 699 or Michelle.Roser@student.griffith.edu.au for more information.
